Hi, I'm trying to set up two DD-WRT routers in my home; one as my "main router" and one on the other end of the house as a "repeater bridge." I think I've followed these setup instructions carefully, but I'm still having problems and could use some help troubleshooting. In before I had flashed DD-WRT on this model router. Ever since I have flashed OpenWRT my 2.4Ghz wireless coverage has been worse. I have tried changing my region to US and increasing transmit power to max (24dbm) but nothing works. I don't want to give up on OpenWRT since it is more future proof and has package options which DD-WRT lacks. For years I have been using a Netgear WNDR4500 running DD-wrt v24-sp2 as a wireless bridge to the second side of my house that feeds a switch with about 10 devices (TVs, desktop computers, etc). This all works pretty good (I occasionally need to unplug/plug the switch because of connection issues but its not a huge deal.)
